MMK steel output falls 3.5% to 3.1 mln tns in Jan–Mar

MOSCOW, Apr 18 (PRIME) -- The steel production of Russia’s Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) fell by 3.5% on the year to 3.1 million tonnes in January–March, the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

Cast iron production went up by 4.4% to 2.3 million tonnes in the period, while sales shrank by 4.3% to 2.8 million tonnes.

In 2022, MMK’s steel output decreased by 14% on the year to 11.7 million tonnes.
